Oiseaux de passage

La Cité Bleue is delighted to welcome Natalie Dessay, one of the greatest voices in opera, and Philippe Cassard, a pianist of rare refinement. Their artistic complicity, nurtured by years of collaboration, gives rise to an intimate and vibrant recital, where every nuance, every silence, every breath takes on its full meaning.

Through a programme woven from French and American melodies, the duo explores the thousand facets of voice and piano, between lightness, nostalgia, humour and drama. The poetry of the French language dialogues with the direct expressiveness of the Anglo-Saxon repertoire in a musical journey that is as demanding as it is moving. We recognise Natalie Dessay's taste for texts that tell a story, that embody, that touch – and Philippe Cassard's taste for subtle moods, changing colours and raw emotions.

This recital is not simply a series of pieces: it is a story, an intimate theatre, a sensitive journey combining elegance and modernity. This concert at La Cité Bleue is part of their final tour as a duo: Natalie Dessay is preparing to retire from the musical stage. A rare, suspended moment not to be missed.
