We can see death as an end; or we can see it as a new beginning. Based on the idea that life and death are inseparable and complementary, Printemps explores the eternal tension that starts with loss, the inert and our vulnerability, and moves towards movement, renewal and wonder.
In Printemps, the Percussions Claviers de Lyon and the dance company La Vouivre draw on the motifs of the round dance, the farandole that unites and contrasts the themes of death and rebirth, revisiting the popular dances and rituals that aimed to tame death, if not to make it retreat, and to regenerate the living forces of the cosmos.
Enriched with new compositions by Gilles Dumoulin and by British composer Gavin Bryars, it offers a vibrant vision of a world in motion again after a period of silence. An ode to life!
