On the 40th anniversary of his death
Through a series of meetings and discussions, La Cité Bleue offers an immersion into the fascinating world of Borges. Diverse perspectives will shed light on his connection to Geneva, his relationship with books, and his place within the Martin Bodmer Collection, as well as the role of music in his thought and imagination. The presence of Bertrand Lévy, Nicolas Ducimetière, and Leonardo García-Alarcón promises an approach that is at once scholarly, lively, and accessible.
The day concludes with a screening of the 1983 documentary *Jorge Luis Borges at the Collège de France*. In it, we discover a Borges who speaks freely and eloquently, addressing poetic creation, dreams, laughter, and the connections between literature, painting, and cinema.
A day for thinking, listening, and sharing, as we encounter a major writer of the 20th century and a city that was, for him as for others, more than a place—a true inner homeland.
