A journey to the heart of what it means to be human
*Let No One Know Where We Are* is a staged concert that explores love, loss, and redemption through three major figures of fin-de-siècle Vienna: Gustav Mahler, Arnold Schoenberg, and Alma Mahler.
At the heart of the show conceived by Silvina Peruglia, Mahler’s Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen trace the journey of a soul wounded by love, wandering between elation, pain, and solitude. These songs engage in a dialogue with a selection of Alma Mahler’s lieder, in which nature becomes a mirror of inner turmoil. The ensemble is framed and interwoven with Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht, a vast symphonic poem in which the night becomes a space for confession, forgiveness, and transfiguration.
The structure of the performance interweaves instrumental and vocal music to create a continuous dramatic arc. The works are not juxtaposed but woven together, forming a subtle journey: passion, wounding, existential anguish, then solace and inner transformation. This format fosters an intimate atmosphere, supported by minimalist staging and powerful visual and lighting design: Let No One Know Where We Are offers introspection, an inner journey.
