Forêt Paisible is specially designed for babies and young children ages 0 to 6: a true first show, designed for children from birth, offering a unique way to experience music—up close, gently, and freely.

At La Cité Bleue, the performance takes place right on stage: parents and children sit together, all around the musicians and singers, in an intimate and reassuring circular space. Here, there is no distance between the artists and the audience: the voices move around, drawing closer, and the little ones can watch, listen, crawl, and let themselves be carried away by the sounds and lights.

In a setting evoking a nocturnal forest, populated by gentle and mysterious creatures, four voices from the Namur Chamber Choir perform Baroque pieces by Henry Purcell, Jean-Philippe Rameau, and Girolamo Frescobaldi, accompanied by metallophones and small percussion instruments. The carefully arranged repertoire conveys the deep, enveloping vibrations of Baroque music to the youngest audience members.

The performance lasts 30 minutes—a format suited to toddlers’ attention spans—and is followed by 15 minutes of sensory and musical exploration: children are invited to discover the space, materials, and sounds, accompanied by their parents and the artists.
